Scharendijke

Scharendijke is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It belongs to the municipality of Schouwen- Duiveland and is located just east of the Provincialeweg on which Brouwersdam that connects the island Schouwen- Duiveland on the island Overflakkee with Rotterdam. The village is located on the Grevelingen. This inland sea is a paradise for divers because of the clear water. Some of the most popular diving sites of the Grevelingen are next to Scharendijke.

Scharendijke mean as much as Scharedeich ( flock = deep channel ) and is attributable to the former leadership of the sea dikes. These dikes have since the flood of 1906 also as a special feature called Muraltmauern, on top of the dike on.

The village had Scharendijke 2001 987 inhabitants. The area of the town is 0.33 km ²
