Scheila Gonzalez

Scheila Gonzalez (* August 5, 1971 in Los Angeles ) is an American multi-instrumentalist and music educator. Best known you as a saxophonist but also by appearances with other musicians including Dweezil Zappa, Alex Acuña and Ray Parker Jr.. Plays tenor saxophone in jazz orchestra Diva, an all-women orchestra, and interacts with various instruments and singing with Zappa Plays Zappa on.

Life and work

Gonzalez received piano lessons from the age of four years and moved to the saxophone at age twelve. She plays various woodwinds, keyboards and sings. It is a conductor of various jazz groups at the Santa Susana Arts High School in Simi Valley, gives private lessons and is active in addition to working on their own albums, their tours and performances as a free lance musician.

Gonzalez in the Zappa Plays Zappa occurs with Dweezil Zappa on tour. In this group, she plays since its inception in 2006.
