Schierenbeke

The Schierenbeke is a 2.4 km long left tributary of the Große Aue or the new mill Bach as the Große Aue is called in the upper reaches. The creek is located entirely in East Westphalia community Roedinghausen in the District of Herford, in North Rhine -Westphalia.

Course

The Schierenbeke rises in Schwenningdorf on a swelling height of about 135 m above sea level. NN. The river flows south and parallel to the Wiehengebirge in east-west direction. At the upper reaches of the natural creek flows through the nature reserve Schierenbeke. The valley in Bach 1.9 km is popularly known also Wolfskammer. Left tributary of the Schierenbeke is the Wehmerhorster creek, which opens with Bach km 0.8. The Schierenbeke opens in floodplain river km 81.5 in the new mill creek or in the Große Aue. The opening height is approximately 79 m above sea level. NN.

Nature

The nature reserve Schier Beeke includes the headwaters of the Schierenbeke and a by- water body and its valleys and the Book of forest on the Wolf chamber and has a total area of 13.5 ha streams are classified as natural. The water quality class I to II allows for the establishment of many rare species. In the immediate vicinity are also nature reserves Wehmerhorster meadow valley and Auebachtal.
