The Schiffslache is a right tributary of the River Main in Hanau- Großauheim in the Main- Kinzig district, in Hesse. It arises in a swamp forest in Großkrotzenburg near the main road past 8 went into this swampy floodplain of Main. The area is now a nature reserve.

Course

The Schiffslache draws an arc around Großkrotzenburg and emerges from the forest. It passes under the railway line Hanau -Aschaffenburg and flows between the Staudinger power plant and L3309 in a northwesterly direction Großauheim. The Schiffslache crosses the Limes Bridge, flows through some gardens and finally flows into the Main.

Flora & Fauna

In the nature reserve with its alder forests, sedge and reeds covered with damp and wet meadows newts, toads garlic, leaves and jumping frogs, storks, Broad-leaved seasoning and fire salamanders occur.
