Scholasticus

Scolasticius (also Scholasticus ) was an East Roman Patrician, Exarch of Ravenna and valet ( cubicularius et exarchus Italiae ).

Scolasticius resulted in 713 an embassy to Pope Constantine I, in which he assured the pope of orthodoxy of the new Emperor Anastasios II. He then moved on to Ravenna. After the riots in Italy, particularly in Rome and Ravenna, where the Exarch John Rizocopus died, returned to Italy again calm, and Scolasticius procured in Rome and perhaps in Ravenna recognition.
