The Schrankogel ( in the AV map Schrankogl ) is with 3497 meters above sea level. A. the second highest mountain in the Stubai Alps. It is located east of the meridian field at the end of the Sulztals, a side valley of the Ötztal in Tyrol. The northeast side of the Schrankogels is characterized by a steep Firnflanke to Schwarzenberg Further down, from all other sides of the Schrankogel rocky character.

Already on September 20, 1821 the botanist Hargasser rose to just below the summit. The first ascent was successful then in 1840 pastor scoop.

Starting point for an ascent of Schrankogels from the Ötztal is the westernmost Amberger Hütte ( 2135 m).
