Schrassig

Schrassig ( Lux: Schraasseg ) is a village in the municipality Schüttringen in the canton of Luxembourg. With 1,032 inhabitants Schrassig is the most populous locality in the municipality. The place is located with the prison Schrassig the only closed detention center of Luxembourg.

Location

The village, located in the Syrtal, the capital of Luxembourg is located about 13 km to the east at an altitude of 270 meters above sea level. Neighboring villages are Oetringen, Neuhaeusgen, Schüttringen and sand hamlet. Furthermore leads past the railway line Luxembourg Water Cheap, part of the railway connection between Luxembourg and Trier, directly to Schrassig.
