Schwarzbach (Aa)

The Black Bach is a right tributary of St. John Bach ( whose name is later in Aa). It is located in the northeast of North Rhine -Westphalia in the territory of the district of Gütersloh and Bielefeld.

Course

The Schwarzenbach springs north of the Teutoburg Forest in Werther (Westphalia ) and flows in a westerly direction to the city of Bielefeld. Upon reaching the border of the brook Bielefeld initially forms the western boundary of the reserve Depp Wiesen, and takes only about 100 meters later on in the nature reserve Schwarzbach from right to mill creek. It then flows through the first district of Bielefeld Depp village in the district Dornsberg. About 600 meters from the village will also be recorded on the right side of the Hasbach. The nature reserve Schwarzbach ends about a kilometer further downstream, there adjacent and separated only by a road begins the conservation area mill mach. A further 600 meters later flows from the left to the nature reserve Beck villages Mühlenbachtal the eponymous creek to. A little later joins the Schwarzbach coming from the left in the Johannisbach.

History

The Schwarzenbach marked 1811-1815 the border between France and the Kingdom of Westphalia.
