Schwarzwaldverein

Today's Black Forest Association was formed in 1934 from the merger of the company founded in Freiburg im Breisgau Black Forest Baden in 1864 with the club was founded in Stuttgart in 1884 the Württemberg Black Forest Association. At a first attempt by the merger of the two clubs there had been unsuccessful in 1906. The union was finally to an arrangement of the kingdom hiking guide, after each landscape area only a hiking club should exist.

The Black Forest Club is the oldest mountain and hiking club in Germany.

History

Baden Black Forest Association

The Badische Black Forest club was founded on 8 June 1864 as Baden association of industrialists and restaurateurs. In 1913 he was one of 72 sections with 12,000 members. Württemberg Black Forest Association

Activities

Activities of the Black Forest Association are hiking, nature conservation, home care, road network maintenance and families and young people in the Black Forest. The association operates 27 migrant homes, stay about 30,000 hikers a year in which.

Organization

The Black Forest club consists of the main club, whose members are 238 independent local associations. The local associations are organized into 16 districts and have a total of nearly 75,000 members. The Presidium of the Association consists of three members; President George Keller. In addition to the Bureau, there are nine major observatory, which are responsible for certain issues, and the full-time staffed main office. Seat of the main association is Freiburg im Breisgau.

Trail care

The Black Forest Association oversees a network of hiking trails with a length of over 24,000 km, which is distributed over the entire Black Forest. About the Black Forest, the association is also responsible for the trails in the western region of Lake Constance, which lie in the (formerly ) Baden area.

The conversation is done entirely by volunteers. The so-called main trails ( Westweg, middle and Ostweg ) run in a north-south direction; added in this direction nor the Kandelhöhenweg and Ortenauer Wine Trail in the west and the Gäurandweg in the east. Youth in the Black Forest Association

The youth in the Black Forest Association is an independent youth organization of the Black Forest Association with about 11,000 members. To her among all members of the association to the age of 27.
