Science Digest

Science Digest [ ˌ saɪəns daɪdʒɛst ] (English for extract of Sciences) was a monthly American magazine that was published by the Hearst Corporation 1937-1986. Target group of the magazine were people with a high school degree. It contained brief reports on scientific topics, often a summary of other publications in the form of Reader's Digest. Among the most famous authors who published in Science Digest, counts the environmental activist Rachel Carson.

In November 1980, the style of the magazine was changed. The target group were now people who had at least a college degree. The magazine came out every two months and had a circulation of 500,000 copies. For this target group, however, there were already two other magazines. The magazine was discontinued in 1986.
