Scout Law

The Scout Law is a core part of the Scout method, which is defined as a system of progressive self-education. In this system, the Scout Law sets out a policy framework, after making the scout their lives.

Originally, the Scout Law by the founder of Scouting, Robert Baden- Powell, formulated. Based on different Scout associations have developed their own formulations that differ in content usually only slightly.

  • A Scout's honor is to be trusted. On the honor of a scout is reliable.

The control concept of the Christian Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts

The Association of Christian Scouts and Guides (VCP ) has no uniform scout rules, but uses a flexible framework of self- formulated group of rules that may differ between the groups and to be adapted to changes in group situations. The Federal Rules of VCP suggests the following content for the rules, additions and omissions are possible:

  • Plan together, work, play - not against each other;
  • Impose done nothing - do something;
  • Swallow not all - say what I do not like;
  • Do something together - alone I reach less;
  • Participate in a group - do not stand at the edge;
  • Watch - nothing accept unaudited;
  • Breaking new ground - nothing for immutable;
  • Join - do not let others think for themselves;
  • Learn from others - do not insist on their own point of view;
  • Help others - not only think of themselves.

By way of derogation use different subdivisions of the VCP solid scout laws. As an example, the Scout Law of the VCP country Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar listed:
