Scrabster

Scrabster is a small ferry port in the north of Scotland, run by the regular ferry to the small harbor town of Stromness on the belonging to the main island of Orkney Mainland. From the summer of 2007 Scrabster was also run by the Faroese ferry Norröna and received so temporarily a direct connection to Tórshavn ( Faroe Islands ), continue to Seyðisfjörður ( Iceland ), the Norwegian mountains, and to Hanstholm, Denmark. This connection has been dropped without replacement since January 2009. The Norröna wrong since only between Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Iceland.

The port of Scrabster is the northernmost port on mainland Britain and is situated on the Thurso Bay just two kilometers northwest of the small town of Thurso. He is in addition to its function as a nationally important ferry port further comprises a locally important fishing port.
