Seal script

The seal script (Chinese篆书/篆书, Pinyin zhuanshu ) is one of the five main categories of Chinese calligraphy.

The seal script, the vertical and horizontal lines are running smoothly, the run ends slightly pointed out. The seal script was divided into two main subgroups, the dàzhuàn (大篆) " Great seal script " and the xiǎozhuàn (小篆), " Small seal script ". Examples of the larger seal script found on cylindrical stones and engraved bronze kettles. Characteristic of the smaller seal script, the winding, wire-like drawn lines.

The seal script reached its peak in the Qin Dynasty. The Minister Li Si left to posterity a Tai Shan stone inscription, which is an example of the smaller seal script.
