Sébastien Maté

Sébastien Maté ( born September 19, 1972 in Mont -de- Marsan ) is a former French footballer.

Career

Mates career began in 1997 in the French Division 2 at Stade Briochin. He stayed there for one season before he joined a class in the summer of 1998, lower for AS Cherbourg, where he played 33 games. But even there it took him only one season and he joined the following season within the league to Limoges FC and 12 months later at the Stade Laval back in the D2. For the season 2000/ 01 he tried again in the second highest French league, but only played a league game for Amiens SC.

Only when he to Entente Sannois Saint- Gratien in the highest amateur league, the CFA, joined in July 2002, stopped his wandering years and he graduated in the following four and a half years, 119 games.

During the winter break of the season 2006/ 07 he decided to go, when he signed for half a year at the French giants Olympique Marseille in Ligue 1. There, however, he was only number four behind Cédric Carrasso, Sebastien Hamel and Mehdi Sennaoui. However, his contract ran out at the end of the season. After this was not extended, Maté decided to change to a unterklassigen club AS Aix.
