Secret Machines

The Secret Machines is an American rock band from Dallas, Texas.

History

The band's debut album, Now Here Is Nowhere, was released and followed by Ten Silver Drops from the year 2006. During those two albums the band consisted of three members Brandon Curtis, Benjamin Curtis and Josh Garza 2004. Shortly after forming, the band members moved from Dallas to New York, where they live today.

2007, separated Benjamin Curtis (guitar, vocals) to give his second project, School of Seven Bells, more attention to the band. Replaced him out Phil Karnats who played with Benjamin Curtis at Polyphonic Spree.

In order to retain control over their idiosyncratic approach, the band has produced both albums themselves. For the production, the musicians did with Jeff Blenkinsopp together ( co- producer), who has worked with bands such as Pink Floyd and Hawkwind, and in the late 1970s adopted from the business. Secret Machines, their third album was recorded as it did her debut Now Here Is Nowhere by and with producer Brandon Mason.

Benjamin Curtis, the former guitarist of the band, died on December 29, 2013 lymphocytic leukemia.

Style

Her style can best be described as progressive rock with some Krautrock influences. The band counts themselves as representatives of the space rock. Some reviews also speak of a revival of the musical style of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Can, U2 and others. In this list cooperation and occasional gigs the band with Michael Rother fits.
