Sedat Peker

Sedat Peker ( born December 1, 1971 in Sakarya ) is the leader of a criminal organization from Turkey.

Peker, whose family is originally from Rize, grew up in Germany and is an avowed Panturkist.

In 1997, he was tried and acquitted for the murder of the smuggler " Abdullah Topçu ". Two other defendants, presumably Pekers men were convicted in the same case, to imprisonment for life.

He then fled to Romania and was sought, among other things because of extortion, coercion and incitement to murder. During this time, visited him supposed to be a minister and a deputy from the Motherland Party and guaranteed him for anything in return, that he had to settle for a short term of imprisonment. Peker was voluntarily brought to Turkey on 18 August 1998 and resulted thereafter. The case against him was opened in September 1998. To everyone's surprise, he confessed that he was accused acts and was sentenced to a prison term on charges of forming a criminal organization. During the trial, Peker made ​​different, strange statements that he did not explain in more detail: "An old deputy has texted me and told me I should not be arrogant list I want ( the court ) to tell you everything, because if I do. do not tell, then it could be that I am committing suicide under dubious circumstances. " Although the prosecutor asked for a prison sentence of more than 7.5 years, Peker got only a sentence of eight months and 29 days and was released again on 14 May 1999.

On 12 March 2005, he was arrested as part of Operation butterfly and on 31 January 2007 on charges of forming and leading a criminal organization, disabled attempted robbery, forgery and false imprisonment in two cases for 14 years, five months and ten days sentenced imprisonment. On 30 May 2008 Sedat Peker during his imprisonment, married his lawyer Özge Yilmaz in prison " prison Kandira Type -F " in Izmit.

Peker is suspected member of the Turkish underground organization Ergenekon. The corresponding trial, in which Peker is involved, is still ongoing.
