See Siang Wong

See Siang Wong (Chinese:黄旭 洋, pinyin: huáng Xu Yáng; born May 7, 1979 in Arnhem ) is a Dutch pianist of Chinese descent.

Life

See Siang Wong studied in the Netherlands Marjès Benoist and in Switzerland by the pianist Homero Francesch and Bruno Canino. At twelve, he made ​​his concert debut accompanied by the Dutch Radio Orchestra.

See Siang Wong has performed in over 30 countries in Europe, Asia, America, the Middle East and Australia. He gave concerts with renowned conductors such as Pierre Boulez ( Webern " concert " Berio " O King ," Boulez " Dérive I" at the Lucerne Festival ), Ralf Weikert ( Mozart Piano Concerto No. 23, K. 488 ), Howard Griffiths ( Mozart Piano Concerto No. 12 KV 414). In addition to the classical repertoire with a focus on Mozart, Chopin, Schumann and Debussy See Siang Wong uses especially for the new music. He plays in his concerts piano works by contemporary composers such as Arnold Schoenberg, Luciano Berio, György Ligeti, György Kurtág, Wolfgang Rihm, Peter Eötvös, Emmanuel Nunes, Marco Stroppa, James Dillon, Jonathan Harvey. The project "Swiss Piano" was initiated by See Siang Wong in 2008 and presents new Swiss piano works, which See Siang Wong are dedicated. The project aims to promote the creation of new Swiss piano music. Many popular and young Swiss composers have written for the project (including Daniel Fueter, Hans Ulrich Lehmann, Laurent Mettraux, Isabel Mundry, Rolf Urs Ringger, Jürg Wyttenbach, Gérard Zinsstag, Alfred Zimmerlin ).

When Decca Records ( Universal) have been published six CDs with piano works by Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Haydn, Mozart and Schumann. In 2012 he released his first album on RCA Red Seal (Sony Music) with piano works by Franz Schubert. The Chopin, Mozart and Schumann recordings and the Schumann / Beethoven CD ( Novalis ) were awarded by the Swiss broadcasting as "Classic Highlight". Other photographs published by German gramophone and various independent labels.

Wong has been teaching since 2002 at the Zurich University of the Arts. He gives master classes at home and abroad and joined the group of Steinway & Sons artist. He lives in Switzerland.
