Sella band (SAB ) is a company incorporated in August 2006, Music website that originally wanted to give bands and solo musicians the ability to allow crowdfunding for a professionally recorded album. The Company
Sella band (SAB ) was ( formerly of Sony / BMG), Pim Betist (formerly Shell) and Dagmar Heijmans (formerly Sony / BMG), founded in August 2006 by Johan Vosmeijer.

New model
Since October 1, 2009 until the bankruptcy was Sella band with a completely new business concept in the market. This allowed the artists the freedom to decide on their financing plan and also leaves all rights to the artists. Every artist may now collect about Sella band money to finance a project, whether it is as originally in the recording of a CD or in the financing of a tour of promotional activities etc.. The first already successful group Public Enemy has begun to collect SellaBand money for the next CD. The band has decided to leverage a budget of $ 250,000 that can be drawn in Parts of U.S. $ 25.

The variability of the projects has been restricted to the production of music, marketing, concerts and the sale of tickets. Believer
Anyone who is interested in supporting a registered SellaBand artists can buy so-called " Parts". Here you can freely choose how many " parts" you want to buy and whether you would like to support one or more artists.

Basically, the active SellaBand artists can work with whomever they want to. But one of the strengths of Sella band is the ability to bring together artists with world-class producer. So far, for example, Tony Platt ( AC / DC, Bob Marley ), Attie constr ( Scorpions, Judas Priest ), Peter Denenberg ( Spin Doctors, Deep Purple ), Steve Bush ( Stereophonics, Corinne Bailey Rae ), Mick Glossop ( Van Morrison, Waterboys ), Malcolm Burn ( Patti Smith, Emmylou Harris) and Greg Haver ( Manic Street Preachers, Super Furry Animals ) on SellaBand produced albums participated.
Partnerships
On 18 December 2007 a partnership with the British side by Amazon.com announced. Amazon now distinguished from each artist, the U.S. reached $ 30,000, 100 Parts and sells the CDs on your own page. The partnership has now expanded to Amazon in Germany and in the USA.
In March 2009, Sella band announced that they will start ( Bring The Noise ) management in the USA with Chuck D' s company BTN, the Public Enemy frontman will act as a " U.S. Ambassador " Sella band.
In June 2009 Sellaband.de was started. The first sister site was implemented together with the Merchandising Media GmbH. In the framework of conceptual changes and realignment of Sella band Sellaband.de the project was abandoned after a short time. After the relaunch and the acquisition on February 24, 2010, a full German -language website was started again. Other language versions will follow.
Artists with the achieved Budget
Since the start of the page in August 2006, a total of 86 (as of April 2012), artists have achieved its budget target destination. Original model
