History

Semcon was founded in 1980 in Västerås, Sweden. It is listed as a public company on the OMX in Stockholm.

Semcon acquired in March 2007, initially the German development service IVM Automotive, with around 850 employees by automotive supplier Edscha and shortly thereafter, in August 2007, its Swedish competitor Caran. Both companies were completely in Semcon Group. Together, the group currently employs approximately 3000 employees.
