Senad Podojak

Hafiz Senad Podojak ( born May 31, 1966 in Zenica ) is a Bosnian Muslim religious official in Austria.

Podojak visited the Gazi Husrev - Medresa in Sarajevo from 1981 to 1985; already in the second grade, he was appointed muezzin. Podojak was 20 years old Hafiz and is internationally known as Koranrezitator. He participated in the 1987 International Competition for Quran recitation in Makkah, where he finished 5th. In Tehran Podojak reached the 4th Place and in Vienna the first place. In the 1990s, together with Yusuf Islam, Dino Merlin and Aziz Alili he recorded an album with songs of the Bosnian War.

Podojak is chairman of the Islamic Religious Community in Upper Austria and teachers for Islamic religious instruction in Wels, Upper Austria. In addition, since 2005 he is Fachinspektor for religious instruction of the Islamic religion Pedagogical Institute. In the Austrian media, he was criticized for his teaching inspection, among other things because he looks at an offset as a solution of the problem with Islam teachers with missing knowledge of German. The Bosnian Grand Mufti Mustafa Ceric continued in 2007 for a deposition Podojaks as chairman, since this am near a Wahhabi movement in Bosnia.

Podojak lives and works in Wels. He is married and has two children.
