The Senate is the upper house of the Parliament of Kenya. The first Senate Kenya was established in 1963, but abolished in 1966. Only with the constitutional referendum in Kenya in 2010, he was reinstated and since then has been the National Assembly as the first chamber opposite.

The building of the Senate is located in the capital, Nairobi.

The Senate shall be composed in accordance with Article 98 of the Constitution of Kenya a total of 67 MPs. Of this amount, 47 directly elected representatives of the counties, 16 women, who are appointed in proportion to their election results by the parties, as well as four MPs (2 men, 2 women ), of which two represent the youth and 2 disabled people. The Speaker of the Senate is a member ex officio.
