Senkamanisken

Senkamanisken was a Nubian king who ruled around 620 BC. He was married to Amanimalel and Nasalsa and had the sons Anlamani and Aspelta that were to follow him.

He is mainly known from his pyramid at Nuri Nu 3. When mountain Barkal are statues found of him that have been here apparently hidden or buried during an Egyptian attack. From there comes also a sphinx with his name. Objects with the name of the ruler were also found in Meroe, ie that time already had a certain importance.
