Sentai

Sentai (Japanese戦 队, Task Force ) refers to a specific category of Japanese tokusatsu and anime series where the main characters together form a working team to face a hostile organization (mostly from demons or aliens existing) to fight.

Sentai groups usually consist of five (rarely four ) persons in combat situations in a new alter ego with special abilities to transform themselves. Each character is assigned a distinctive color and an icon. Often associated with a particular color, a particular element from which the fighter draws its strength.

The first Sentai anime series Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman was built in 1972. Additional known representatives are Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs and the Magical Girl series Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. Some even wear this anime " Sentai " in their name, such as Chojin Sentai Balatack or Gasshin Mechander Sentai Robot.

The first real- Sentai series Himitsu Sentai was Goranger (Secret Task Force Goranger ) from 1975, which is based on a manga by Shotaro Ishinomori ( Cyborg 009, among others ).
