Sergei Chukhray

Sergei Alexeyevich Tschuchrai (Russian: Сергей Алексеевич Чухрай; born May 31, 1955 in Kuibyschewka - Vostochnaya ) is a former Soviet canoeist, he was a three time Olympic gold medalist and three -time world champion.

His first World Cup medal won Sergei Tschuchrai 1974 in Mexico City, where he received a silver medal in the 4 x 500 -meter kayak season. Two years later Tschuchrai won his first Olympic gold medal when he together with Alexander Degtjarow, Yuri Filatov and Volodymyr Morozov won at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal in four kayak.

In the 1978 World Cup in Belgrade Tschuchrai fought together with Vladimir Trainikow the bronze medal over 500 meters and the gold medal in the 1000 meters. The following year he won a complete set of medals at the World Championships in Duisburg. Together with Vladimir Parfenowitsch he won over 500 meters. In the double kayak over 1000 meters, he received the bronze medal with Trainikow. A third podium finish in four succeeded Tschuchrai kayak over 500 meters with the second place. At the Olympic Games in 1980 he won together with Vladimir Parfenowitsch competitions in the double kayak over 500 meters and 1000 meters.

His third world title won Tschuchrai 1982 in Belgrade in four kayaking in the 10,000 meters. In 1983 he won at the World Championships in Tampere again about 500 meters and a bronze medal over 1000 meters .. a silver medal in the four- kayak
