Sergio Bizzio

Sergio Bizzio ( born December 3, 1956 in Villa Ramallo ) is an Argentine writer, screenwriter and film director.

After an art and architectural studies Bizzio worked as a film director and screenwriter before he turned to writing and in the eighties. Since then he has published thirteen novels and several short stories, poems and plays. He is considered one of the best contemporary writers of Argentina, but only with his novel Rabia, who under the German title appeared silence rage in 2004, he also gained international notoriety. Silent anger is so far his first book, published in German language. This novel has won several awards and was filmed by director Sebastián Cordero the Ecuadorian 2009. The film was produced by Guillermo del Toro, awarded at the Tokyo International Film Festival with the Jury Prize and appeared in Germany under the title Rabia - Silent rage. Bizzios short story cinismo was the literary model for the Argentine drama film XXY.

Sergio Bizzio now lives in Buenos Aires.
