Şerif Gören

Serif brats ( born October 14, 1944 in Xanthi, Greece) is a Turkish director of several award -winning films.

Life

The first years of his childhood he spent in his native city of Xanthi. In 1956 he went on a scholarship to Turkey, to start his education at the Istanbul Young High School after he had won a on behalf of the former Turkish President Celal Bayar organized scholarship.

His contact with the film industry came into being in 1962 by accident when a friend gave him a job in Erman Film Studio in search of work. He worked there from 1962 to 1968 as editor. Later, he began to work as an assistant director and then as a director. His collaboration with Yılmaz Güney began in 1966. Brats made ​​films like Deprem (1976 ), Duvar and Köprü (1975).

Occasionally, he was also to see themselves on camera. In some of his films, he took small roles and in a movie ( Sen Türkülerini Söyle ), he played the lead role.

Serif GOERENS known film is Yol - The path. As co-director Yılmaz Güney addition he received in 1982 for this film the Palme d'Or at the International Film Festival in Cannes, as well as the French Critics Prize in 1983.
