Serra de Monchique
The Serra de Monchique is a mountain range in the Western Algarve. The highest peak is called Fóia and is 902 meters high. The Monchique Mountains are a major wind protection from the cold wind that blows to the mainland from the Atlantic Ocean.
The Serra is named after the main town of Monchique.
