The Sestra (Russian Сестра; literally means " sister ") is a 138 km long left tributary of the Dubna in the European part of Russia.

Course

The Sestra forms the outflow of Seneschsees, which lies about 65 km north of the Russian capital in the Moscow Oblast. This lake was created by damming the Sestra and the river Istra. From there, the Sestra flows first in a northerly and northwesterly direction through the densely populated Moscow region. Some of her movement is channeled here.
