Seven Sisters (Sussex)

When the Seven Sisters, english Seven Sisters is the cliff coast, situated between Eastbourne and Seaford designated. They are the most impressive cliffs of the South Downs in Sussex in southern England. The Seven Sisters is a chain of successive Cretaceous rocks of the shoreline. Since it is eight crests and seven sinks, is disputed whether the name refers to the peaks or the valleys.

From west to east, starting east of Cuckmere Haven, they bear the following names, the valleys between lead also individual names. In the list, the cliffs are highlighted in bold:

East of the last rock is the village of Birling Gap, which is seriously threatened by erosion. Here, the access to the beach is possible via a superior staircase. Behind it is found then the traveled Belle Tout lighthouse, built, and then the highest chalk cliffs in Britain, the Beachy Head, below which a lighthouse.
