The Severn River is a river in northern Ontario, Canada.

It has its source near the western border province of Ontario. The Severn River has a total length - measured from the source of the Black Birch River - of 982 km and a catchment area of ​​102,800 km ², which extends to a small extent also over Manitoba.

The origins of the river in Deer Lake. From there it flows in a northeasterly direction to the Severn Lake and on to the Hudson Bay, into which it flows near Fort Severn. The First Nation settlements of Sandy Lake and Bearskin Lake and Fort Severn lie along the river course. These were built at sites of previous trading post. At the time of the Severn River formed a major fur trade route.
