Sèvres – Cité de la céramique

The Musée national de Ceramique, Sevres is the French National Museum of Ceramics. It is located on the Place de la Manufacture address in Sèvres, Hauts -de -Seine, a suburb of Paris. Founder of the museum was Alexandre Brongniart, director of the Sevres porcelain factory. 1845 published the first catalog; to 1927, the museum belonged to the manufactory.

The museum contains a wide span collection of earthenware, stoneware and porcelain from around the world. About ten percent of the approximately 50,000 exhibits come from the Sèvres factory. The museum is closed on Tuesdays. It can be accessed via the Line 2 of the Paris Tram and alternatively via the Pont de Sèvres metro station.
