Sewaren is a settlement and census-designated place within the town of Woodbridge in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. In the 2010 census, 2756 inhabitants were registered.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.6 km ², 2.5 km ² land and 0.1 km ² ( 5.00%) water.

According to the census of 2000, there are 2,780 people, 1,019 households, and 768 families residing in the city. The population density is 1129.9 persons per km ². 85.36 % of the population are White, 5.72% African American, 0.18 % Native American, 4.71 % Asian, 0.04 % Pacific Islander, 2.73 % from other races, and 1.26% mixed race. 9.57 % are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
