Seyler theatrical company

The Seylersche Acting Company ( also Seylersche troupe ) was a German touring company and was regarded as one of the best known theater companies in Europe in the 18th century. It was founded by Abel Seyler, a Hamburg businessman of Swiss origin, in 1769 and attracted some of the most famous actors, playwrights and composers of that time.

Friedrich Maximilian Klinger's Sturm und Drang drama was premiered by the Seylersche force on April 1, 1777 in Leipzig.
