Sha Zukang

Sha Zukang (Chinese沙祖康, Pinyin Shā Zǔkāng; * September 1947 in Yixing ) is a Chinese diplomat.

A graduate of Nanjing University, Sha began his diplomatic career as a staff member at the Chinese Embassy in the UK.

He is currently the Chinese Ambassador to the UN offices in Geneva. In February 2006 he was appointed Under-Secretary General for Economic and Social Affairs.

In a recent interview by BBC, he said that the U.S. is " shut up " was when the U.S. criticizes China's military expenditure as a part of Chinese domestic politics. He criticized the U.S. in return for allowing the U.S. military expenditure had half of global military spending.
