Yixing

Yixing, (Chinese -Traditional宜兴 市, Simplified宜兴 市, pinyin: . Yixing Shì ) is a county-level city, which belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Wuxi in China's Jiangsu Province. It is located near the western shore of Lake Tai Hu, about 120 km west of Shanghai. Yixing has around 260,000 inhabitants and is famous for its ceramic products, including especially artistic teapots and pots. Furthermore, it is mainly located in Yixing chemical industry.

The earliest settlement finds - already with references to sound processing - go back 5000 years and prove the long tradition of pottery production in the region.
