Shaanxi History Museum

The Shaanxi History Museum (abbreviation :陕西 历史博物馆, traditional characters :陕西 历史博物馆; Pinyin:. Shanxi lìshǐ bówùguǎn; engl Shaanxi History Museum ) is the largest and most important museum of Shaanxi Province and belongs to the so-called " eight imposing museums of China" outside of Beijing. The museum was originally called " Shaanxi Provincial Museum " and was redesigned in 1977. The current building was opened on July 20, 1991 and is considered a landmark of the ancient city of Xi'an. The museum contains more than 370,000 exhibits with a period of tension over a million years.
