Hashtgerd New Town (Persian شهر جدید هشتگرد; . Engl Shahr -e -e Jadīd Hashtgerd ) is the largest planned New Town in Iran in the province of Alborz. It is located in the south of the old Hashtgerd, about 30 km west of the city of Karaj million and about 60 km west of Tehran megacity. Hashtgerd New Town was founded by the Iranian state urban development authority in 1993, had in 2000 accommodate around 40,000 inhabitants and by 2016 to 500,000 inhabitants.
