Shannon MacMillan

Ann Shannon MacMillan ( born October 7, 1974 in Syosset ) is a former American football player. She was a striker and now works as a trainer.

Career

She began her career at San Pasqual High School in Escondido ( California). During her time at the University of Portland, she debuted in 1994 in the U.S. national team. In 1995 she was awarded the Hermann Trophy as the best Collgesportlerin of the year.

She took in 1995, 1999 and 2003 at the World Cup finals. In the 1999 World Cup in their own country they were each occupied during their World Champion team in 1995 and third in 2003. Furthermore, they participated in the 1996 Olympics and 2000. In 1996 she secured the semi-final against Norway by golden goal their team a place in the final. There, she scored the opening goal against China to 1:0. The game could win their team 2-1 and overtook the gold medal.

Between 2001 and 2003 she played for the San Diego Spirit in the WUSA. In 2002 she was elected Player of the Year in the USA. Until her career end in 2006, she completed 175 international matches and scored 60 goals. Since July 2007 she has been assistant coach of the women's team at UCLA.
