Sharafnama

Scherefname ( شرف نامه / Šarafnāma ) is a 1597 book published in the Kurdish poet and historian Şerefhan and a major source of the Ottoman and Kurdish historiography.

The work was written in the Persian language. An original is in the library of Oxford. The Scherefname was variously translated into different languages ​​. 1669 was by a descendant Şerefhans named Muhammed bin Ahmed Bey Mirza and again in 1681 translated into Ottoman by an author named Semi. 1930 translated the Kurdish teacher Süleyman savci from Diyarbakir to Turkish. However, this individual works that are stored in libraries.

Already in 1860 it had been translated into Russian and translated into French in 1868. 1853-1856 translated the Austrians Heinrich A. Barb the plant extracts into German. The Iraqi Kurd Muhammed Ali Avni translated the book into Arabic in 1948 in Cairo. Mehmed Emin Bozarslan translated the work from Arabic into Turkish and published in 1971 (2nd edition 1976, 3rd edition 1990).
