Sharon Shinn

Sharon Ruth Shinn ( b. 1957 in Wichita ) is an American writer in the science fiction and fantasy genre.

Sharon Shinn lives in St. Louis. She studied at Northwestern University. Shinn began her career as a journalist and wrote for The Professional Photographer, DECOR, and BizEd. Alone in the magazine DECOR she was employed for 17 years. Poems she wrote since she was eight years old. After her studies she wrote mostly in the evenings and on the weekends. In 1995, she published with The Sign of willow ( The Shape - Changer 's Wife ) her first novel, which was very well received and for which they with the William L. Crawford Award for the first fantasy novel of the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts was excellent. She was also, as in the following year for her second novel, Archangel ( Archangel ) nominated for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. My first book is about a magic student who needs to realize that his magic teacher has not only transforms inanimate objects into willing servants. She now has more than 20 novels and several short stories, including four novel series, published for both adults as well as a younger readership. In German so far appeared only her first two novels.
