Shasta Lake is a city in Shasta County in the U.S. state of California, with around 10,100 inhabitants (as of 2010 census ). The urban area extends over a size of 28.3 square kilometers. The small town is located in rural areas away from the coast to the north of the State of California, however, is to the surrounding cities as well as to another remote coastal convenient transport. The nearest major town is Redding approximately 15 kilometers in a straight line to the south.

Shasta Lake is also the name of the dam, which is dammed by the Shasta Dam in the vicinity ( Shasta dam). This plays a certain role for the entire region under economic aspects.
