Shavlik Randolph

Ronald Shavlik Randolph (* November 24, 1983 in Raleigh, North Carolina ) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Boston Celtics in the North American professional league NBA.

High School

Randolph attended Needham B. Broughton High School in his birthplace of Raleigh. After he was out of high school go through, he led the school to ever achieved in points, rebounds and blocks. To this end, he broke with 70 points and the school record for scoring in a game points, which had been previously set by Pete Maravich.

College

Randolph's college career was rather disappointing. In three years, he played 92 times for Duke, which started 36 times, scored on average but just 6.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.

Professional career

2005 Randolph signed up for the NBA Draft, but was selected by any team.

Philadelphia 76ers

On 5 August 2005 he signed with the Philadelphia 76ers. In his rookie season he played 57 times for Philadelphia. His Saison had 10 points and 13 rebounds, with an average of 2,3 points and rebounds per game. The team could not reach the playoffs despite the Stars Allen Iverson and Chris Webber. On 30 November 2006 Randolph broke his ankle during a training session. This injury meant that he just 22 season and two playoff games played in its second and third season in Philadelphia.

Portland Trail Blazers

End of September 2008 took him to the Portland Trail Blazers under contract, in which he was, however, used only after 38 games of the season for the first time in a championship game. His first game he completed on 14 January 2009 against his old team from Philadelphia, where he was able to record four points in four minutes. For the Blazers, he ran in the 2008/ 09 season, scoring ten times, on average, 1.8 points and rebounds. At the end of the season extended Portland not the contract with Randolph.

Miami Heat, return to Portland and return to Miami

For the 2009/10 season he signed with the Miami Heat, but in December 2009 he was released from his contract again. Time in Puerto Rico and China

To April 1, 2011 Randolph moved to Puerto Rico to Gallitos of Isabela, after he was nearly six months without a club. In preparation for the 2012/13 season he signed with the Washington Wizards. However, he did not make it into the final squad of the Wizards, and he hired back in China at the Foshan Long Lions.

Boston Celtics

After convincing performances in China Randolph signed a 10 -day contract with the Boston Celtics. After this contract was initially extended for a further ten days, the Celtics announced on March 21, 2013 that Randolph had signed a multi-year contract. For this he was released on 1 August 2013.

Return to China

In October 2013 Randolph returned to China to his old club, the Foshan Long Lions.

Others

Randolph is the grandson of former professional basketball players Ronnie Shavlik, who played in the late 1950s with the New York Knicks. He wears the number 42, half the number back, wearing his grandfather ( No. 84).
