Shaykh Tusi

Abū Dascha ʿ far Muhammad ibn al -Hasan at- Tusi (Arabic أبو جعفر محمد بن الحسن الطوسي, DMG Abū Ǧa ʿ far Muḥammad b al - Ḥasan aṭ - Tusi * 995, . † 1067), known as Shaykh Tusi, was a Twelver Shia scholar, collector of traditions, jurist, and theologian. He was a disciple of Sheikh Mufid.

He is the author of two of the four books ( kutub Arba'a ) of the traditions of the Twelver Shia, namely the works:

  • " The revision of decisions " ( تهذيب الأحكام, DMG Tahdib al - ʾ Ahkam ). In this book is often referenced in the Twelver Shia literature also entitled aṣ - Sahih.
  • " The consideration of the controversial traditions " (Arabic الاستبصار فيما اختلف فيه من الأخبار, DMG al - Istibṣār FIMA ḫtulifa Fihi min al - Ahbar )

In the Twelver Shia literature referenced at- Tusi often only with " the Sheik" ( aš - Shaykh ), while speaking at Sheikh Mufid al- Mufid.
