The Double Schotstek is a knot for joining two ropes of unequal thickness.

Application

The Double Schotstek combines a thick or stiff rope or a cable with a thin flexible rope or a leash. The knot strength is strongly dependent on the thickness difference and the type and surface of the ropes.
