The small town of Shenandoah is an agricultural community between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Massanutten Ridge on the banks of the Shenandoah River in Page County, Virginia. In the year 2000 1.878 inhabitants were counted.

Shenandoah is located in the center of the tourism industry of the Shenandoah Valley and from there the Luray Caverns, the Massanutten Resort, Shenandoah National Park and the New Market Battlefield can be achieved.

The river and the mountains are mentioned in the famous country song " Country Roads" by John Denver.
