Shengsi County

Shengsi (嵊泗县, Shengsi Xiàn ) is a district of Zhoushan prefecture-level city in the south-eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang. It extends over 404 large and small islands, of which 15 are permanently inhabited. The population in 2002 was approximately 80,000 people. The land area of the islands is 86 km ², the corresponding sea area covers 8738 km ².

The Huaniaoshan Lighthouse ( Huaniao Dengta花鸟 灯塔) since 2001 has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 5-518 ).

In the administrative territory of the greater community is the Yangshan Yangshan deep-water port.

Administrative Divisions

At the community level, Shengsi is composed of three large municipalities and four municipalities. These are:

  • Greater community Caiyuan (菜园 镇);
  • Greater community Shengshan (嵊 山镇);
  • Large village Yangshan (洋 山镇);
  • Community Wulong (五 龙乡);
  • Community Huanglong (黄龙 乡);
  • Community Gouqi (枸杞 乡);
  • Community Huaniao (花鸟 乡).
