Sheshet

Rab Scheschet (Hebrew: רב ששת ) was an amora of the third generation in Babylonia.

He was a student of Samuel, therefore, initially in Nehardea, then in Mahuza, and later as a teacher in Shilhi, where he had founded its own academy.

He was weak of body forces and nearly blind, but had an iron energy. Later, after his total blindness, he let them read all he was interested in texts and distinguished himself by his impressive memory, so that it the traditional cloth almost completely dominated by heart ( Erubin 67 a, 41 b Schebuot ).
