Shigeaki Ushijima

Shigeaki Ushijima (Japanese牛 岛 茂 昭, Ujishima Shigeaki; born July 13, 1977 in Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese luger.

Shigeaki Ushijima lives in Hokkaido. He toboggan since 1990 and is since 1996 in the Japanese national team. Since the second half of the 1990s he runs the Luge World Cup. His best result in the World Cup as he reached Elftplatzierter in single-seater on his home track in Nagano in the season 1998 /99. However, in the world's top he could not get the long term. Best result in the World Cup was a 25th place in 2005/06.

Three times Ushijima came to the Olympic Games. In Nagano in 1998, he reached in his home as his best result of 16, he was in Salt Lake City 27, and in 2006 he arrived in Turin on the 35th place in 2002. The best results at Luge World Championships reached Ushijima in the team competitions. 2003 in Sigulda and 2004 in Nagano, he came in tenth with the Japanese team. Best results as a single starter he reached in Nagano and 2007 in Igls than 21
