Shih Kien

Shih Kien (石坚; Shek Kin also; * January 1, 1913 in Shigang, Panyu (district), Guangdong ( province ), China, † June 4, 2009 in Hong Kong ) was a Chinese actor in martial arts films.

Life

Shih's career began in the 1940s; doing so he became one of the most prolific supporting actor of the Hong Kong film industry. He was one of the first stars of the martial arts films alongside Walter Cho, Kwan Tak Hing and Yu So Chow and was formed in northern fighting styles as well as in the drama of the Beijing Opera. He usually played by the villains of the films, as already in the black and white films of the early 1960s to Bruce Lee's opponent in The Man with the Dragon.

His role interpretation found its way into the language use in Hong Kong, where the execution of evil deeds was named after him.

He played a late comic role opposite Jackie Chan in Geek of All Trades. His filmography includes over 120 films.
