The mountain Shimbiris (also called Shimbir Beris ) is the highest peak in Somalia. It is 2460 m high. It is located in the Somali highlands in northern Somalia, north-west of Erigabo. The Shimbiris is in the area of the internationally unrecognized Somaliland.

The name Shimbiris means "place of the birds ".

For centuries the mountain was marked with an incorrect altitude. Only means of SRTM data from NASA was found recently that the specified height of 2416 m until then was too low.
